Q:

Are Dobermans aggressive towards other animals or people?

Hey guys, I've been considering getting a Doberman as my next pet but I've heard mixed things about their temperament. Some people say that they are aggressive towards other animals and even people, while others say that they are actually gentle giants. I want to make sure that I am making the right decision before bringing a Doberman into my home.

For context, I currently have a cat and I want to make sure that my new dog will be able to get along with her. I also want to make sure that I can safely take my dog out in public without worrying about them attacking other dogs or people. Can anyone share their experiences with Dobermans and provide some insight into their temperament towards other animals and people? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I have had a Doberman as my pet for over five years now, and I can say that she is the most gentle dog I have ever owned. In her early years, she was a little reserved and shy around new people and animals but never aggressive. However, with proper socialisation, she has become more confident and loves playing with other dogs at the park.

From my experience, Dobermans are generally friendly and loyal dogs to their owners. They are very intelligent, highly trainable, and obedient, which makes them easy to handle even in public places. With the right training and socialisation, they can be great with other animals, kids and strangers alike.

Nevertheless, I advise that before getting a Doberman, you do your research well and have a plan for giving them enough exercise and mental stimulation. For instance, they need adequate training, exercise and socialisation, and their living space needs to be large enough to allow them to move and play around comfortably.

In conclusion, Dobermans can make excellent pets if you are willing to train, socialize and take proper care of them. They are loyal, intelligent, and protective dogs, and with the right amount of love and attention, they can quickly become great companions to their owners.

Hello there! I've had experiences with Dobermans, and I can say that they are an amazing breed. They are loyal and protective of their owners, which makes them great for those who are looking for a reliable guard dog. However, it is important to note that their temperament varies depending on the dog's genetics and environment.

In my case, I have had two Dobermans, and they were both on the aggressive side. They were highly protective of me and my family, and would bark at anyone they perceived as a threat. However, with proper socialisation and training, they were able to become comfortable around strangers and other animals. Generally, I would recommend that owners keep a close eye on their dogs in social situations, especially if their dog has shown signs of aggression in the past.

In conclusion, Dobermans can make great companions, but owners need to take the time to understand their behaviour and act accordingly. Consistent training and socialisation are essential in raising a well-rounded dog that will be able to interact well in different social situations. I think with proper care and love, a Doberman can be an excellent companion for the right person.

Hey there! I have had a Doberman for four years now and I can confidently say that he is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever owned. He gets along great with my cat and has always been gentle around children and other animals. That being said, I did spend a lot of time socializing him when he was a puppy and I think that played a big role in his friendly demeanor. I would definitely recommend early socialization and training if you do decide to get a Doberman.

However, I do know that some Dobermans can be more aggressive towards other animals and strangers. I think it really depends on the individual dog and their upbringing. It's important to do your research and find a reputable breeder who raises their dogs in a loving and caring environment. A good breeder can also help you choose a puppy with a temperament that fits your lifestyle and needs.

Overall, I think Dobermans can make great pets if they are well-socialized, trained and given plenty of love and attention. But like any other breed, they can have their challenges and it's important to be prepared for them.

Hello there! I have had experience with Dobermans and I can say that they are generally friendly but on a few occasions, I have come across some that were aggressive towards other animals and even people. But just like any other animal, it is important to understand that their behaviour may be as a result of their past experiences and socialisation.

However, I would always suggest that you approach each dog individually and not assume that all Dobermans are aggressive. The best way to approach a Doberman is to take your time and get to know them before making any assumptions. With sufficient training and socialisation, a Doberman can be a great addition to your family. They are intelligent and easy to train, which makes them great for those who are looking for a loyal and obedient pet.

At the end of the day, a dog's temperament depends on several factors such as their upbringing, socialisation, and training. If you do decide to get a Doberman, make sure that you give them plenty of attention, exercise, and training to help them develop good behaviour. With the right care, a Doberman can be an amazing pet that will protect and love you unconditionally.
