Hello everyone, I am considering getting a Doberman as a family pet and I have two young children. I want to know if Dobermans are good with children and if they pose any risk to them. I have read mixed reviews online and I am confused about what to believe. I am hoping to get some reliable information from experienced Doberman owners or experts in this forum. Have any of you had experiences with Dobermans and young children? Do they get along well? Any tips or advice on how to introduce a Doberman to children would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hey folks, I have a 9-year-old Doberman and two kids aged 8 and 10. My Doberman is a great family dog and gets along great with my children, but it hasn't always been like that.
When we first got our Doberman, she was quite hyper and excitable around children, which scared and stressed out my kids. However, with proper training and socialization, we were able to turn things around. We worked with a professional trainer to help our Doberman learn how to behave calmly around children, and teach our children how to properly interact with her.
We also made sure to give our Doberman plenty of exercise and mental stimulation every day to prevent her from becoming bored or frustrated, which can lead to unwanted behaviors.
Overall, I think Dobermans can make wonderful family pets, but it's important to keep in mind that they are a high-energy breed that requires a lot of attention and care. With the right training and socialization, however, they can become loving and loyal companions for your entire family.
