Hi everyone, I've been researching different dog breeds as I am considering getting one as a pet. I came across some information online about Dobermans that says they have a tendency to turn on their owners. As someone who has never owned a pet before, this concerns me a lot. I love the look and athleticism of the Doberman, but I don't want to put myself or my family in danger. Can anyone who owns or has owned a Doberman share their experiences with them? Have you ever had any issues with aggression or them turning on you? Is this a common trait for this breed, or is it just a stereotype? Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi there! I've owned a Doberman for several years now and I can say with confidence that they are not known to turn on their owners. In fact, they are incredibly loyal and loving dogs who often become fiercely protective of their families. Of course, like any dog, they can become aggressive if not trained and socialized properly. However, this is not a trait specific to Dobermans.
It's important to remember that every dog is unique and has their own personality. Some Dobermans may be more aggressive than others, just like some humans are more aggressive than others. However, overall, Dobermans are known for their loyalty, intelligence, and gentle nature. My Doberman has never shown any signs of aggression towards me or my family, and is actually quite friendly with strangers once he gets to know them.
If you're considering getting a Doberman, or any dog for that matter, it's important to do your research and make sure that you're prepared to train and socialize them properly. With proper care and attention, I believe that Dobermans can make excellent pets for responsible owners.
