Can a Doberman and a Rottweiler live together?

Hello everyone, I am considering adopting a Doberman and a Rottweiler. Both breeds have caught my eye and I think they would make great additions to my family. However, I am concerned about their compatibility with each other. I have heard mixed opinions on whether Dobermans and Rottweilers can live together peacefully. Some people say that they have aggressive tendencies towards each other, while others say that they can get along just fine. I want to make sure that I am making the right decision before bringing them home. Has anyone had experience with owning both breeds at the same time? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hello everyone, I had the pleasure of owning a Rottweiler and a Doberman for several years, and can say that they lived together quite well. However, there were a few instances of aggression on both sides, but it was more from the Rottweiler than the Doberman. The Doberman wasn't aggressive at all and was quite submissive, but it seemed to aggravate the Rottweiler at times. That being said, as long as we kept an eye on them and made sure they had their own space, they were able to coexist peacefully. It's important to keep in mind that each dog is different and there are no guarantees, so it's always best to introduce them slowly and carefully, and to always supervise their interactions. Overall, owning both a Rottweiler and a Doberman was a great experience for us, but it definitely required some extra attention and effort to make sure they lived harmoniously together.

Hello there. I have also had an experience with owning both Dobermans and Rottweilers, but my experience was quite different. In my case, my Rottweiler was extremely aggressive and territorial, and didn't seem to like my Doberman when we brought him home. We started off slow, but even after months of trying to get them to coexist peacefully, the Rottweiler would still attack the Doberman at any given chance. It eventually got so bad that we had to rehome the Rottweiler. So, I guess it all depends on the individual dogs themselves. If you're considering getting both breeds, just make sure to do your research and think about their personalities before committing to anything. If you do decide to go through with it, I wish you the best of luck.

Hello, I have had experience with owning both Dobermans and Rottweilers at the same time, and can say that they can definitely live together peacefully! It all comes down to their personalities and training. My Doberman is more high-strung and energetic, while my Rottweiler is more laid-back and mellow. They balance each other out well and get along great. However, it did take some time and effort to get them to this point. We made sure to introduce them slowly and supervised their interactions in the beginning to ensure that there were no issues. We also made sure to give each of them individual attention and training to prevent any jealousy or territorial behaviors. If you are willing to put in the time and effort to properly introduce and train your dogs, I think it can definitely work out. Good luck with your decision!

Hi there, I own a Doberman and a Rottweiler and honestly, they have been the best duo! They both are very protective of each other and also of our family. They get along so well and are always playing together. The Doberman, being more active, keeps the Rottweiler entertained and engaged in play, while the Rottweiler, being more calm and reserved, helps to calm down the Doberman when he gets too excited. However, I would agree with the other users here that proper training, socialization and supervision is key to having a peaceful and harmonious household. We made sure to train both of our pups early on and encouraged them to respect each other's space. Introducing them slowly and giving them separate spaces initially helped as well. But overall, owning both Dobermans and Rottweilers has been a great experience for us and we love seeing them grow together.
