Hi everyone,
I'm considering getting a new dog and I'm torn between getting an Alsation or a Doberman. I've heard that Dobermans are excellent guard dogs and have a lot of muscle mass, but I've also heard that Alsations are fiercely loyal and protective.
My main concern is which dog would be more capable of protecting me and my home if needed? Could an Alsation possibly beat a Doberman in a fight? I want to make sure I choose the right dog for my needs.
Any insight or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hi there,
I have owned both an Alsatian and a Doberman in the past and I can personally attest that both breeds make great guard dogs. In terms of physical strength, I would say that both breeds are evenly matched.
However, I found that my Alsatian was more loyal and protective towards me and my family. She was always by my side and would do anything to protect me if she sensed danger. On the other hand, my Doberman was more of a one-person dog and while he was protective of me, I didn't feel like he had the same level of loyalty and devotion that my Alsatian had.
In the end, I think it all comes down to the individual dog and their personality. I would recommend meeting and spending time with both breeds before making a decision. That way, you can get a sense of which dog will be the best fit for you and your family.
Hope that helps!
