Hello everyone,
I am considering getting a Doberman as my next pet, and I am wondering how big they get. I want to make sure I have enough space for them to live comfortably and don't want to be caught off guard by their size. I've read online that Dobermans are a medium to large breed, but I'm still uncertain about their actual height and weight. Can anyone who has experience with Dobermans give me some insight on their size? Do males and females differ in size? And how much room do they need to move around and play comfortably? Thank you in advance for your responses!

I have had a male Doberman for the past year and I can confirm that they can grow to be quite large. My dog is about 27 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs around 85 pounds. He loves to run around in the backyard and play fetch, but he also enjoys cuddling with us on the couch.
Although we have a large yard, we still take our dog on walks twice a day to ensure that he gets proper exercise. We also take him to the dog park once a week to socialize with other dogs. In terms of space, I would say that they can comfortably live in an apartment as long as they get enough exercise and attention.
It's important to note that Dobermans are a highly intelligent breed and require a lot of mental stimulation. We often engage our dog in games and training sessions to keep his mind sharp.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Doberman breed to anyone looking for a loyal and protective companion. They may be large, but they can thrive in any living space as long as they get the exercise, attention, and mental stimulation they need.
