Hey everyone, I have a Doberman dog who is an absolute sweetheart. I recently got into the habit of hugging him while he sleeps. He doesn't seem to mind and even snuggles into me. However, I'm not sure if this is okay or not. I've heard that some dogs don't like being touched while they sleep, but my Doberman seems to enjoy it. I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything that could harm him or make him uncomfortable. Has anyone else hugged their Doberman while sleeping? Is it okay to do so? I've tried to hug him while he's sleeping before, but he usually wakes up and gives me a weird look before going back to sleep. I've come to accept that my dog just doesn't like being hugged, and that's okay. Every dog is different, and they have their own preferences when it comes to physical affection. It's important to respect their boundaries and not force them to accept something they're not comfortable with. Instead, I show my love and affection to my Doberman by spending quality time with him, taking him on walks, and playing together. So, my advice to you would be to pay attention to your Doberman's cues and respect his boundaries. Hugging might be okay for some dogs, but not for others, and that's perfectly fine.
