Hi everyone,
I am considering getting a Doberman as a pet but I work long hours and often have to leave my house for extended periods of time. I'm worried about whether it is safe to leave a Doberman alone for so long? I don't want to neglect the dog, but I also don't want to put it in an unsafe or unhealthy situation.
Can anyone provide some insight on whether this breed can handle being alone for extended periods of time? Are there specific things I should be aware of or precautions I should take? I would appreciate any advice or personal experiences anyone has had with leaving their Doberman alone for long periods of time.
Thank you!

Hi there,
I used to have a Doberman and had to leave her alone for long periods of time due to work commitments. While it is not recommended to leave any dog alone for extended periods of time, Dobermans can handle it better than other breeds due to their independent nature. However, it is essential to ensure they have plenty of exercise and stimulation before leaving them alone.
I made sure to take my Doberman for a long walk or run before leaving her alone for the day. I also filled up her toys with treats and left some puzzle toys around the house to keep her engaged. Additionally, I hired a dog walker to come in and take her out for a quick walk during the day.
It's important to note that leaving any dog alone for too long can result in separation anxiety and other behavioral problems. If you work long hours, it might be best to consider getting a different breed or adopting another dog to keep your Doberman company.
Hope this helps!
