Q:

Is it true that Dobermans will bond closely with their owners?

Hey everyone,

I'm considering adopting a Doberman, but I'm still doing my research on the breed. I've heard that Dobermans are very loyal and will bond closely with their owners. I'm hoping to hear from some Doberman owners out there about their personal experiences with their dogs.

Do they have a tendency to be particularly attached to one person in the household? How do they behave around strangers? I'm just trying to get a better sense of what I can expect in terms of their personalities and behavior before I make a final decision.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Hey there,

I am a Doberman owner and can vouch for their loyalty and devotion to their owners. My Doberman has definitely bonded closely with me and seeks out affection and attention from me specifically. However, he's not aggressive towards other members of my household and is generally friendly with strangers as well.

That being said, every dog is different and can have their own unique personality and behaviors. It's important to socialize any dog, including a Doberman, with people and other dogs to ensure they are well-adjusted and comfortable in various situations.

Overall, I think a Doberman can make a wonderful pet for the right household. They are smart, energetic, and loving dogs that are eager to please. Just be prepared for their high energy levels and exercise needs. Hope this helps!

Hello!

As a Doberman owner, I can say that these dogs are incredibly intelligent and affectionate with their owners. My Doberman is constantly following me around the house, and he'll do anything to make me happy. He's also prone to anxiety, and he can become quite destructive if he's not given enough exercise and attention.

In terms of their behavior around strangers, I've found that it varies from one Doberman to another. My dog is generally very friendly with other people, even if he's not really interested in them beyond saying "hello". However, I've seen other Dobermans who are a bit more wary around strangers, and who might take some time to warm up to new people.

Overall, I think that Dobermans are amazing dogs that make great pets for the right kind of owner. They require plenty of exercise, socialization, and positive reinforcement training. But if you can provide them with those things, you'll be rewarded with an incredibly loyal and loving companion.

Hey there!

I have two Dobermans and they are definitely the most loyal and loving dogs I have ever owned. They have both bonded very closely with my family, but they are not aggressive towards other people, even strangers.

One thing to keep in mind with Dobermans is that they need A LOT of exercise. They are high-energy dogs that will require plenty of walks and runs to keep them happy and healthy. Additionally, while they can be affectionate with their owners, they also need consistency in their training and boundaries to avoid any destructive behaviors.

Overall, I think that Dobermans are a wonderful breed for those who are willing to put in the time and effort to properly care for them. They can be incredibly devoted and loving companions that will bring a lot of joy and laughter to your life.

Hi all,

I just wanted to chime in here as well. I've been a Doberman owner for a few years now, and I have to say that they are incredibly loyal and protective of their owners. My dog has definitely bonded closely with me and is always by my side, whether I'm working or relaxing.

In terms of behavior around strangers, Dobermans can be a bit intimidating due to their size, but I've found that most people are actually pretty welcoming towards them. I've also found that other Doberman owners tend to recognize the breed and are very friendly and supportive.

That being said, Dobermans are definitely not for everyone. They require a lot of attention and exercise, and they can be prone to some health issues if they're not properly cared for. But if you can give them the love and attention they need, you'll be rewarded with one of the most loyal and loving dogs out there.

Hi there,

I'm also an owner of a Doberman and I can attest to the fact that they form incredibly strong bonds with their owners. My dog is very attached to me, and constantly wants to be near me or in my lap.

However, I must say that I've had some concerns with his behavior around strangers. He tends to be very aggressive towards unfamiliar people, even if they're not approaching us in a threatening manner. It's something I've been working on with him, and we've seen some improvement over time, but it's definitely something to keep in mind if you're considering getting a Doberman.

Overall though, I have to say that my Doberman is a wonderful dog to have around. He's extremely loyal, energetic and has brought me so much joy over the years. I would definitely recommend this breed to anyone who is able to provide them with the love and attention they need.

Hi everyone,

I have owned a Doberman for several years now and she has been the most loyal and loving companion I could ever ask for. She is incredibly affectionate with me and my family and is always eager to please.

However, as other posters have mentioned, Dobermans are a high-energy breed that require a lot of exercise and training. In addition, while my dog is friendly with strangers and other dogs, she can be wary of some people that she perceives as a potential threat to her family.

Overall, I would highly recommend Dobermans as pets for those with the time, patience, and experience to provide them with the proper care and attention that they need. They are smart, loyal, and affectionate dogs that will quickly become an integral part of your family.
