Hi everyone,
I am considering getting a Doberman puppy and have come across a litter of mixed American and European Dobermans. I have done some research and understand the differences between the two types, but I am wondering if there are any disadvantages to having a mixed breed puppy.
I am mainly concerned about any potential health issues or behavioral problems that may arise due to the mixture of two different breeds. I want to make sure I am making an informed decision before committing to getting a puppy.
Has anyone had experience with owning a mixed American and European Doberman? Are there any specific things I should look out for or consider before making a decision? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Hello,
I actually do own a mixed American and European Doberman and so far, I have not experienced any significant disadvantages. My dog has been in excellent health and has not shown any behavioral problems.
In fact, I find that having a mix of both types has resulted in a well-rounded dog. My Doberman has the sleek look and agility of the European type, but also possesses the loyalty and obedience of the American type.
Of course, every dog is unique, and there's always a chance that a mixed breed dog may inherit some undesirable traits. However, I would say that my personal experience with my mixed Doberman has been very positive, and I believe that the benefits of having a mixed breed dog can outweigh any potential drawbacks.
Ultimately, it's important to do your research and make sure that the breeder you are getting your puppy from is reputable and ethical. Good luck with your decision!
