Hi everyone,
I am considering adopting a Doberman and I am wondering when is the best time to start its training. I have never owned a Doberman before and I want to make sure that I start its training at the right time to ensure that it grows into a well-behaved and obedient dog.
I have heard that Dobermans can be quite stubborn and require a firm and consistent hand when it comes to training. I want to make sure that I am doing everything I can to set my new furry friend up for success.
Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello everyone,
I started training my Doberman when he was around 3 months old, and I can say that he has turned out to be one of the most well-behaved dogs I've owned. I believe that the earlier you start training a Doberman, the better it is for their overall behavior and obedience.
One important thing to note is that Dobermans require both physical and mental stimulation. They are high-energy dogs, and without enough exercise and mental stimulation, they can become destructive and act out. As such, including activities like puzzles or agility games in your training can help keep them mentally stimulated and well-behaved.
You should also train them to be social with other people and animals. Dobermans can be initially aloof with strangers, but with proper socialization, they can learn to be friendly and welcoming to new people and pets.
Moreover, the use of positive reinforcement is very crucial in Doberman training. We need to be firm but gentle with them and reward them with praises and maybe some junks of treats when they display good behavior.
In summary, the best time to start training a Doberman is as early as possible, and incorporating both physical and mental activities and socializing to both people and animals are some ways in achieving an overall well-behaved and obedient Doberman.
