Hello everyone,
I am a proud owner of a Doberman and I am looking for some advice on how to ensure a healthy and long life for my furry friend. My Doberman is currently a year old and I want to make sure that I am doing everything I can to keep him healthy and happy for many years to come.
I have already done some research on the topic and have started to implement some things, such as feeding him a high-quality diet, providing regular exercise and taking him to the vet for checkups. But I am wondering if there is anything else I should be doing to ensure his longevity.
Are there any specific health concerns that I should be aware of that are common in Dobermans? Are there any supplements or vitamins that I should be giving him? Any particular exercises or activities that he would benefit from? Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Hello,
I have owned several Dobermans over the years, and one issue that I have encountered is dental health. Dobermans are prone to tartar buildup and gum disease, which can lead to tooth loss, bad breath, and even more serious health concerns if left untreated.
To prevent dental issues, I brush my Doberman's teeth regularly with a canine-specific toothpaste and brush. I also provide him with plenty of chew toys, which help remove plaque and tartar buildup on his teeth.
Another issue to keep in mind is Doberman's tendency to overheat during hot weather. Make sure your Doberman has access to plenty of shade and fresh water during the summer months, and avoid exercise during the hottest parts of the day.
Overall, I have found that providing plenty of love, attention, and proper care is key to ensuring a healthy and long life for my Dobermans.
