Hey guys, I'm currently in the market for a new family dog and I'm torn between getting a Doberman or a Rottweiler. I have a wife and two young children so I need a dog that is gentle, loyal and protective of its family. However, I also want a dog that is good with strangers and other pets since we often have guests over and we have a cat at home.
I've done a bit of research on both breeds, and I know that both Dobermans and Rottweilers can make great family dogs if they are properly trained and socialized. But I'm still not sure which breed would be a better fit for our family.
What do you guys think? Which breed would you recommend and why? I would love to hear from owners of both breeds, or anyone with experience with these dogs. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there! I personally have owned a Doberman in the past, and I would highly recommend them as a family dog. Dobermans can be very loyal and protective of their family, which makes them great watchdogs. I always felt safe with my Doberman around.
Additionally, Dobermans are highly intelligent and trainable. They are great at learning new tricks and commands, which can be fun for the whole family to participate in. And because they are so intelligent, they can also be great with children.
Of course, like any breed, Dobermans require proper socialization and training to ensure that they are well-behaved around strangers and other pets. But with the right upbringing, they can be very gentle and sweet-natured.
Overall, I would highly recommend a Doberman as a family dog. While Rottweilers can be great too, I just have a special place in my heart for Dobermans. They are truly remarkable dogs.
