Hi all,
I am considering getting a guard dog for my home as I live alone in a not so safe area. While doing my research, I came across some information about the Doberman, Rottweiler and German Shepherd breeds. I understand that all three of these breeds are great guard dogs and have a knack for protecting their owners. However, I am concerned about the potential harm they can cause in case of an attack on a human. I am not planning on training my dog to attack a human, but in case of a home invasion, I want to make sure that my dog would be capable of inflicting enough pain on the attacker to defend me. So my question is, which of these breeds would be capable of inflicting the most pain on a human between the Doberman, Rottweiler and German Shepherd? I appreciate any insights and advice you can offer me on this topic. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,
I have been a dog trainer for several years and have experience working with all three of these breeds. While it's true that all three can make great guard dogs, it's important to remember that the individual personality and temperament of the dog is what matters most.
When it comes to training a dog for protection, I always emphasize the importance of positive reinforcement training. This means rewarding good behavior with treats and praise, rather than punishing bad behavior. Positive reinforcement training has been shown to be the most effective way to train a dog and can help ensure that your dog is well-behaved and obedient.
When it comes to the question of which breed would be most capable of inflicting pain on a human, I have to agree with the other users that it's not an appropriate question to ask. As a trainer, my focus is always on training a dog to protect their owner without causing harm to anyone.
Ultimately, the best guard dog for you will depend on your personal preferences, lifestyle, and experience with dogs. It's important to do your research and talk to breeders, trainers, and other dog owners before making a decision.
I hope this information is helpful.
