Hello everyone,
I am considering adopting a Doberman and I have heard mixed opinions about their behavior. Some people say they are friendly and playful, while others say they can be aggressive and intimidating. I am particularly concerned about their tendency to rub on people.
I would like to know your personal experiences with Dobermans rubbing on you. Did you feel afraid? Why or why not? Are there any specific behaviors or body language cues that indicate when a Doberman is feeling friendly or aggressive?
I appreciate any insights or advice you may have on this topic, as I want to ensure that I am making an informed decision before bringing a Doberman into my home. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,
I recently adopted a Doberman and was a bit apprehensive about her tendency to rub on people. I had heard mixed opinions about their behavior and aggressive tendencies, so I was a bit cautious.
However, my Doberman has been nothing but friendly and affectionate towards me so far. She loves to rub her body against me and cuddle up close when we're relaxing on the couch. I've noticed that when she does this, she makes a low, contented grumble that shows she's happy and relaxed.
Of course, I do keep an eye on her behavior and am mindful of any signs of aggression or discomfort. I've found that positive training methods have been very effective in teaching her good behavior and helping her socialize with people and other dogs.
Overall, I think Dobermans are wonderful dogs with a lot of love to give. As with any breed, it's important to do your research and find a reputable breeder or rescue organization that can help match you with a Doberman that has a good temperament and is well-suited to you and your lifestyle.
